meet the maker

Born in the Rocky Mountains, where they were raised on Treaty 7 lands, Logan (they/she) finds living beings in light and lines. She solder together colour, movement, and imaginative illustrations, creating a new kind of stained glass art. Using glass as a medium Logan collaborates with elements of botanicals, light prisms, wind and paint. Logan's affinity for exploring various mediums all comes together through their stained glass work.

Logan graduated from UBC with a major in anthropology. All the while deepening their self-taught artistic practice as a way of visually understanding history and culture. Art was a physical and wonder-fueled methodology to make sense of the academic understanding of people and the environment. The outcome of their undergrad was the certainty the western ideology knows very little about our natural world and that what is occurring all around us is nothing short of magic.

With an affinity for nature and quiet spaces from a young age. Their first encounters with magic, death, trauma, and love all occurred in nature. The impact of growing up outdoors left an imprint on Logan which is demonstrated through both light and dark motifs in their work. Logan recently completed a new glass series called “Creatures of light” which explores the real and imagined worlds we move through. Logan is also the Executive and Artistic Director for the Golden District Arts Council.
